I got busy this week and didn’t get to my regular Monday post. But here I am! You hopefully caught Beth’s post about how love believes on Monday. I hope you all had a merry Christmas! My week has been an amazing time with family.

A few weeks ago, I was at a Christmas concert at a church where my dear friends and mentors are now the music pastors. I watched as he conducted a choir and full orchestra and his wife cheered him on from the front row, singing every line. I have always been moved by their devotion to each other, and it was bearing witness to lifelong dreams being fulfilled.

The song What Child is This was being performed, a friend I was sitting with leaned over and said, “Do you know what laud means?” Embarrassed, I shrugged and had to google it. I have sung this song my entire life, but didn’t know what LAUD meant. It means highest honor- highest praise. So the words “haste, haste to bring Him laud”, hit me like a ton of bricks. And I feel an urgency in my heart to hurry up and give Him the honor He is due.

Love never loses faith…love believes. Because I believe, and because I love, I make haste to bring Him laud. May He always be seated in the highest place of honor in my life- let His name be lifted higher than mine. That is the cry of my heart for this coming new year.

Textbook extrovert. If there’s a stage, Jenny wants to be on it; whether it’s singing in church, doing stand-up comedy or acting. She has recently joined a cult called LuLaRoe. Her husband, David, is deeply concerned. Jenny and David, a pastor, are recently celebrating eighteen years of marriage. After years of infertility, they became adoptive parents of two year old twin boys in 2014. They’ve never been happier or more exhausted. Every day is an adventure. Jenny blogs at thefivestages.wordpress.com and has a regular feature in Tualatin Life newspaper called Everyday Heroes to celebrate those serving our community. She and her husband started a clothing line based on their story and you can check it out at bottlecapbadge.com. There’s nothing we can’t do with a little bit of love and a whole lot of caffeine.
